"Claire," by Montreal artist Patrick St. Germain, was influenced by early Japanese landscape painting. Using a traditional bamboo brush, the artist applied calligraphy ink and watercolor to rag paper, playing with concepts of light and shadow in an abstract context. Patrick St. Germain is a Montreal-based artist who works mostly with acrylic paint, resin, metallics and pastels. He describes his style of art as primarily abstract, textural and complex. "I love to explore the grandeur of nature by weaving abstraction and landscape into my own personal visual language."
